Ultravox - Vienna

The history of progressive and atmospheric romance is where Ultravox stands, as the emotional impact they created which spawned its way into the 80s music scene of gothicness and new-romance. This album, which always have seemed to be the classic of all the releases is one album I defintley would recommend. It has been known as a band who have pioneered into the synth pop scene of the early 80s, but I would still say that their romantic pieces still can be heard at a goth-club or a late night in front of the radio. This album is also the first one they released after the known musician Midge Ure entered the band. After that the band never really became the same. If you are looking for heavenly and atmospheric songs made out of progressive electro-sounding drums, violin, ethreal guitar, throbbing rhytmic bass and amazing touchy male vocals filled with sadness, romance and beauty. Then this is one album you should get your hands on.
